Revision Tips!

I just want to start with a small disclaimer to say that everyone works and revises in their own way - some of these tips may be absolutely useless for you! But personally, these have all worked well for me and they're the methods that I still continue to use in my last year of A Levels! I've got mock week the first week back so I've had to sacrifice my Christmas Break to lots of school work sadly, but hopefully it will pay off!
Just in case any of you were wondering, I'm taking Psychology, English Literature and Maths (Statistics) and these pictures come work from a variety of the subjects! It's important to remember that not only is every person different in how they revise, but every subject is different too!

Japonesque Eye Lash Curlers

I plan on doing a review on most of the beauty products that I got for Christmas after I've had a chance to have a little play around with them but I didn't even need to give this product more than one try to know that I love it!

On Christmas Blogging

Personally, I love What I Got For Christmas blog posts and videos. I guess it's partially because I'm so nosey, but also because I love seeing how different people react to different gifts and unique ideas that I can steal for birthdays/Christmas next year!
However, I don't think I would ever do one.

2015 Book Challenge

I've decided that 2015 is going to be the year that I start reading more often, for school and for pleasure! I found the PopSugar Book Challenge online and found it really interesting, so I've decided to follow it! That means that this year, I have to read:

Our Christmas Traditions!

1: The first thing that we do to start off the Christmas season each year is that we put up our Christmas tree! This usually happens on the first Sunday of December, but this year it happened on November 30th because we couldn't wait until the 6th to get it out!

15 Festive Favourites!

The lovely Lou from LouleeCutie recently did this tag and nominated all of the BeauBloggers, so I decided to do it!

My True Love Gave To Me

I was intending on finishing this book before I posted about it but due to school taking over my life a little bit, I haven't had the chance to finish it yet, sorry! This book is your typical teen romance novel set at Christmas with a twist - it's actually a collection of 12 short stories! It features authors such as Rainbow Rowell (Fangirl, Attachments), Gayle Forman (If I Stay), Stephanie Perkins (Anna and the French Kiss) and David Levithan (co-author of Will Grayson, Will Grayson with John Green) and there really is something for everyone!

Christmas Films!

So, I may have been having a 'down' day the other day and upon realising we had no Christmas DVDs to hand to cheer me up, ordered a few off Amazon...

Elf/Elsa Make-Up

Hello everyone! I posted a picture of the make-up I was wearing to work on Sunday to my personal Twitter (@MeganMcMahon02) and it ended up getting quite a few favourites, so I thought I would do a post about it!I'm quite lucky in that I'm not given many specifics on how I must do my make up for work, and some of the other girls barely wear any at all, but I'm a bit of a sucker for having an excuse to go all-out, so I really do! I like to do something a bit different every week to keep things exciting and this week, I tried to go for something a little bit inspired by Elsa from Frozen!

WARNING: Henna in Hair Dye

Not a very seasonal blog post I must admit, but I'm doing it because I know it'll appear on my Timehop in about a week's time and now's the best time for me to sit down and write about it.
I've known that I'm allergic to henna (PPD) since the age of 15, when I got a black henna tattoo on holiday in Turkey and it led to an allergic reaction that scarred my arm with an imprint of the tattoo, which you can still just about see to this day.

Christmas Colour-in Puzzles Tablecloth!

On Saturday, I spent the day helping my mum run a stall at the Christmas market at my little sister's school. It was a really cute little affair with lots of independent, local businesses running stalls, so of course we had to do a bit of shopping!

Today I thought I'd do a little review of one of the more festive products that we bought - a colour-in tablecloth with Christmas puzzles all over.

Ted Baker 'Franny' Purse!

Hello! As we're approaching the Christmas season, I thought it might be helpful to do a review of my Ted Baker purse which I got for my birthday earlier on this year, in case any of you are considering adding it to your Christmas list but want to know a bit more about it before you make the splurge!

The Christmas Jumper Edit

Oh what, another Christmas-related post? What a surprise!
As you may know, I'm working as an elf this holiday season and a lot of people come into visit wearing Christmas jumpers. I've even asked a couple of families where they got theirs because Christmas jumpers are my favourite item of clothing at this time of year (snuggly AND festive - who can blame me?!) and a surprising amount of them said they got theirs from Asda, so I decided to take a look!

The Knot

So tonight's a nice, cosy evening and I'm snuggled up in bed reading on my iPad, and I thought I would do a post about what I'm currently reading. According to the kindle app, I am currently 70% of the way through so I think I'm in a position where I can make a judgement of it!

Staying Thankful

This post is in tribute to any American readers I may have gained so far! It's going to be a little more personal than normal so if you're not interested, feel free to skip this one and look forward to a few Christmas themed posts coming over the next few days!

-

I'm actually really struggling to stay thankful at the moment so this is a bit of a struggle for me to write, but I suppose that's the purpose of thanksgiving - to remind yourself to stay grateful for what you have, no matter what's going on.

So, this year I would just like to say that I am thankful for:

The thumbs that I am using to type this post on my phone. My phone. The mobile internet I am using to post this as I get the bus home from school. The convenience of which I can get public transport home. The fact that I have a home. My family, whom I live with. My stepdad, without whom I would not see my mother smile nearly as much, nor would I have my siblings. The fact that I can keep in contact with my older brother, despite him travelling around South East Asia. The planes that flew him safely across the world. My ability to speak not only one language, but have the choice to learn many more also. My education, and the opportunities I have been presented with as a result. My freedom. My creativity. My passions.

-

I challenge you to leave a comment telling me about what you are thankful for, despite the gloom of the weather outside or the argument you had earlier or the struggles you're facing. Everyone has something to be grateful for, something to live for.

How I Stay Organised!

In general, I tend to be quite a busy bee with various different commitments that I have.
I think my worst nightmare would be having to let people down by admitting that I'd managed to double (or even triple) book myself so I like to carefully plan and keep track of what I'm meant to be doing for people and I have two things that really help me with that!

Upon Receiving UCAS Offers...

I've always said that I want this blog to be something to store my memories in so I figured I might as well start posting more personal experiences!
Last night, I received an email from UCAS informing me that I had received my final offer for a university place next year.
I can't decide whether I should be more feeling proud of myself or scared that I'm growing up!
I'm really glad I've got all of my offers early on because it means that I don't have to let the stress affect my Christmas cheer and I can focus on my friends and their offers now, but still - I feel far too young for all this!
The thought of moving out next year is a very scary one - who is going to tell me to suck it up Megan it's just a paper cut when I'm hurt? Who's going to wake me up when I've been asleep all evening and remind me to eat? Who's going to be my best friend when the whole world is falling apart?
Then again, moving out means I have a good excuse to start buying little homeward knick-knacks to decorate with!
What do you think? When was the first moment when it really dawned on you that you were growing up?

My Week In Pictures #2

1: Nothing beats the fireworks at Center Parcs! 2: Being goofy with the best friend for his 18th meal 3: May have dropped my phone down the toilet and ended up needing a new phone and case - oops! 4: Birthday tea party for one of my oldest friend's 18th! 5: Parks in London are very pretty, but was the trip worth the 9 hours of travelling?

14 Things for Christmas 2014

1. Christmas Trees
My Christmas tree goes up the first Sunday of December every year (which just so happened to be the 1st this year!) but since I work on Sundays now, it meant I'm going to miss out on decorating it. Which is actually quite fortunate, as it usually means fighting with my little sisters over where everything goes... Coming home to a pretty, lit-up tree is much more stressful! My family also decided to decorate our piano this year, which was a really cute touch.

My Bucket List

I thought I'd do a bit of a different post today. I was thinking recently about everything on my bucket list (side note: if you don't know what a bucket list is, it's essentially a list of things that you want to do before you die) and I realised that actually, I've done quite a few of them, so I thought I'd share them here.
