January Favourites

What a month January has been! If you're interested in seeing a glimpse into what I got up to, I posted a Month in Review post on Saturday talking about some of the things that have happened, but this post is all about some of the beauty products I've been loving throughout the month!

VO5 Beyond Blonde Conditioner - In my opinion, I suit blonde so much more than any other hair colour and it's been about a year since I last dyed my hair. If you've read my post all about my experiences with hair dye then you'll know that unfortunately, I can't really dye my hair anymore, so I've been looking for other ways to lighten my hair. I bought this shampoo as a whim since it's fairly cheap, and my stepdad - who is fairly clueless about anything beauty related, but tries to understand it all! - commented the other day that the ends of my hair where I've been using it are looking a lot lighter, so I'm pretty chuffed with that! Either way, it smells lovely and does a pretty good job at keeping my hair moisturised, so the lightening effect is just an added bonus really

Agave Hair Oil - This came in my Birchbox this month and I've used it after every time I've washed my hair since I got it and I've been really loving it! My hair is pretty greasy naturally so I've avoided hair oils up to this point but I think this one may have converted me! It makes the ends of my hair feel so sleek and silky, plus it smells so yummy! I'm sad it's such a little sample but a little seems to be going a long way so hopefully it will last me for a little while longer

Elastic Hair Ties - I won't go into too much detail because I've already done a review here but I'd just like to say that they're still holding up well and I've had at least one on my wrist every day this month! I've had loads of compliments on them as well, due to their colourful prints and some of my friends didn't even realise they were hairbands at first!

L'Oreal True Match Foundation - I think this is actually the only make up purchase I made this month - well done Megan! This foundation is really lightweight and leaves a natural, if not slightly dewy, finish to the skin. It's also a really good colour match for my pale skin and it's one that I've worn every day since I bought it towards the beginning of the month. It's perfect for wearing to school, and I can really see why so many bloggers love it. The only issue I've found with it is that I need to make sure I moisturise before I put it on otherwise it can settle into my dry patches a bit - but that only encourages good skincare habits, so I can't complain too much!

Urban Decay Naked Palette - If this isn't the definition of a cult product, then I don't know what is! I got the Naked palette for Christmas and promptly completed my collection by buying myself the Naked 3 as a NYE treat, but I think the original has quickly become my favourite! I think it has the broadest range of colours - everything from dark greys to colds to pinks - and you can create a really wide range of looks from it. Do I really need to tell you about how buttery soft the shadows are and how brilliantly pigmented they are? Really?

Japonesque Eyelash Curlers - Again, I've already done a review of these here and I think the fact that I was willing to do a whole post dedicated to a pair of eyelash curlers says a lot really! They fit my eye shape really well and curl my lashes better than any other pair I've tried before. I've really noticed a difference in how nice my eye make up looks after using these, because I think having nice lashes just completes it!

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Balm - It's no secret that I'm quite lazy when it comes to my skincare routine, so finding a product that both removes my make up and cleanses my skin pretty well is a bonus for me! It smells lovely and the texture is really thick and rich but thins down to an oil, which is really nice for my dry skin. I've got a review of this coming up later this week so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for that if you're interested!

So, those were my most-loved beauty products of the month! What have you been using this month? Let me know!

    1. I agree! I thought I might like Naked 3 since I love the pink toned shadows in Naked 1 but I still end up using those ones instead to be honest! x
